June 29, 2013 – (Burbank, CA) – Rapidly rising Australian rock quartet The Rubens
have announced that they will hit the road for a fall U.S. tour with their Warner Music Group label-mates, Grouplove, in September. Confirmed tour dates are listed below.
The Rubens’ self-titled debut album, which was recorded in New York City with producer David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes, Regina Spektor), will be released in the U.S. on Sep 10th, just in time for their coast-to-coast tour.
The Rubens, who are brothers Sam Margin (vocals/guitar), Elliott Margin (keyboards), and Zaac Margin (guitar), plus their longtime friend Scott Baldwin (drums) – hail from the tiny rural town of Menangle in New South Wales (pop. 327). Since forming in 2011, they have gone from being total unknowns to enjoying strong support from Australia’s influential radio station Triple J and for the second year in a row playing the main stage at one of Australia’s biggest music festivals, Splendour in the Grass, alongside the likes of Mumford & Sons and Jack White.
The Rubens have already won over a legion of fans with their rich, soulful take on blues rock, thanks in part to their triumphant performances at this year’s Governors Ball and Bonnaroo Festivals, SXSW, and shows in NYC and LA.
In their antipodean homeland, The Rubens’ album debuted at No. 3 on the ARIA chart and sold more than 10K its first week, shooting to No. 1 on iTunes Australia. The album’s first single, ”My Gun,” as well as the album itself, have been certified gold in Australia. The Rubens have recently completed a massive, sold-out headlining tour of Australia, as well as supported Bruce Springsteen during his tour Down Under this past March. The band returned to the U.S. to perform live on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last month. Click here

A brand-new Rubens song, “Cowboy,” is featured on The Lone Ranger: Wanted – Music Inspired by the Film, which was released on July 2nd. The album also contains tracks by Iron & Wine, Iggy Pop, Lucinda Williams, and many others.
